Description
Andy Guest has recently returned to the animation industry, joining the CharacterShop as Commercial Director in January 2008. Andy previously spent 7 years working in Sales & Marketing for BBC Resources at Pebble Mill and White City and was involved in the setting up of the CharacterShop as a BBC subsidiary from 2000-2002. He then spent 5 years working in exhibitions and live events, before realising that animation was a lot more fun!
Since 2002, the CharacterShop has been an independent animation studio and production company, specialising in high quality 3D & 2D computer animation and design and digital effects projects for a wide range of screen media.
Recent work includes 3D animation for the CBBC children's series Friends and Heroes, short animated episodes of Knight Rider for mobile phones and Zoo Troop; a cartoon film produced for Bourne Leisure Group. The CharacterShop has won awards at the Annecy and Holland Animation Festivals, as well as Promax UK, BDA (USA) and Royal Television Society, in addition to a number of business awards.
Alongside Production Director Mark Vale, Andy will be helping to develop the CharacterShop's portfolio and profile, helping it make a real contribution to the Midlands and wider UK animation industry. Andy is not an expert on any aspect of animation, so don't ask any tricky questions, OK?
