Animation Forum West Midlands (AFWM) is a free-to-join, support network for animators and those working generally in the animation sector, in the West Midlands region.
Initially established in 2006, the project is non-profit and managed on a day-to-day basis by Birmingham City University's NTI Birmingham (formerly Screen Media Lab), and has been funded by Screen WM and Birmingham City University since 2009.
AFWM members of all levels of experience can benefit from the Forum's networking events, animation masterclasses and screening nights. In addition, the website's news, events and features, and a regular e-newsletter featuring all the latest jobs and opportunities in the region's animation sector is helping to build a more cohesive animation sector in the region.
The Forum also acts as a point of contact for those outside the region's animation industry (such as potential animation clients and collaborators, aspiring animators and the public sector). If you would like AFWM to help you find an animation studio or professional, please contact us or try our member directory.
The Forum is guided by a variety of figures from the Midlands animation sector, including The CharacterShop, Skillset, Screen WM, The Brothers McLeod, Second Home Productions, Blitz Games Studios, Hereford College of Art, University of Wolverhampton, Synthetic Dimensions and Flip Festival.
